| "Vineyard Film Festival" (www.vffestival.com) is a non-profit festival that has been set up in order to encourage film-makers from all over the globe to take advantage of the wonderful scenery that Cyprus has to offer.
Among their activities is the following project regarding conflisc representation by the media.
They asked whether we could participated and I accepted, since I believe it is a very interesting.
On Thursday we will view a group of short films created by youth, dealing with the conflict between Israel and Palestine and discuss central themes and how similar themes come into play with relation to the problem in Cyprus.
The organisers would like to discuss with us your views on
a. media representation (specifically dealing with two contrasting sides of a conflict or argument) and
b. film as a means of communicating important messages both to and from youth.
You will get more information about the project on Thursday, since one of the organisers will be with us. |
